Internet Crimes Against Children
Task Force (ICAC)

Message from the Attorney General

As a parent, I know that the most important job we have — and often the hardest — is keeping our kids safe. Today’s unprecedented access to technology, especially through mobile devices, can leave our children vulnerable to sexual predators. This website can help you navigate the confusing world of online interactions and protect our youth from harm. Here you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about helping young people use the internet safely. The links and information on this site can also assist you in reporting a missing child or criminal acts such as child pornography or sexual solicitation of a child.

Kwame Raoul
Attorney General

The Illinois Attorney Generals Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ILAG ICAC) is one of sixty-one coordinated task forces across the nation. Operating through a Department of Justice Grant, the ILAG ICAC Task Force is dedicated to investigating and prosecuting online child exploitation, and provides many education and training opportunities.

In addition to conducting investigations, the Task Force provides state and local law enforcement case assistance for online child exploitation.

To report online child exploitation and child pornography:

Through technology and internet use, there is the possibility of children being exposed to inappropriate content and individuals masking their true identities. Taking advantage of perceived anonymity, child predators may use social media, direct message and gaming apps to contact children. For information on protecting online accounts, explore our resources for parents, educators, and youth.

To schedule an internet safety presentation for your school, community or organization please send an email to e-info@ilag.gov for more information.
