Attorney General Lisa Madigan joins former Deputy Attorneys General Patrice Ball-Reed, left, and Ellen Mandeltort following their induction as Associate Judges of the Circuit Court of Cook County during a ceremony in Chicago. Ball-Reed, formerly Deputy Attorney General for Child Support Enforcement, and Mandeltort, formerly Deputy Attorney General for Criminal Justice, were two of nine lawyers sworn in as Associate Judges.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan delivers remarks during the Albert Schweitzer Fellows for Life Lecture Series, "Leadership by Example: Idealists Creating Change" at Loyola University in Chicago. The series is hosted by the Schweitzer Fellows Program, the Health and Medicine Policy Research Group and Loyola's School of Social Work. Madigan spoke about events in her life that led her to public service and answered questions from the audience.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan delivers remarks and answered questions during the Chicago Chapter of the Appraisal Institute's (CCAI) one-day "Conditions of the Chicago Real Estate Market Conference." Madigan was one of several presenters and spoke about her office's efforts in dealing with the mortgage crisis in helping Illinois homeowners. The CCAI was established in 1991 and is one of the largest chapters of the Appraisal Institute in the country with over 1,200 members.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan is honored with the 2008 Lerner-Egan Distinguished Service Award from Lynda DeLaforgue, far left, and William McNary, far right, Co-Directors of Citizen Action/Illinois, and Howard Learner, President and Executive Director of the Environmental Law and Policy Center during Citizen Action/Illinois' annual awards dinner in Chicago. Learner presented the award to Madigan, given each year to those who demonstrate their commitment to community affairs and progressive politics. Citizen Action/Illinois is the state's largest public interest and political organization in Illinois. The award is named after the late Ambassador Lou Lerner and the late Monsignor John J. Egan, both heavily involved in issues related to civic affairs and human rights.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan joins Chicago attorney John Simon during the 9th Annual Justice John Paul Stevens Awards Luncheon in Chicago. Simon was one of three recipients of the award that recognized and honored their contributions to public service; and “whose careers emulate the integrity and spirit of U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.” Justice Stevens delivered keynote remarks during the annual event, which was sponsored by the Chicago Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Foundation.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan joins the Hon. Thomas R. Fitzgerald following his installation as Chief Justice of the Illinois Supreme Court for a three-year term. Justice Fitzgerald was unanimously selected by the other justices and is the state's 115th high court leader.

Attorney General Madigan joins Hedy Ratner, left, and Carol Dougal, right, Co-Founders and Co-Presidents of the Women's Business Development Center (WBDC) during its 22nd Annual Entrepreneurial Woman's Conference Hall of Fame Awards Luncheon.  The WBDC assists women in launching new businesses and strengthening their existing businesses in the Chicago area.  This two-day conference is one of the oldest and largest business networking events for women in the country.
