1/24/08 League of Women Voters Illinois 2008 State of the State Luncheon Attorney General Lisa Madigan stands with Paula Lawson, left, board president of the League of Women Voters Illinois (LWVIL), and Michelle Jordan, LWVIL vice president of development, during the group's 2008 State of the State Luncheon in Chicago. This year's theme was the "State of the Environment" and Madigan was recognized with the Laura Pollak Fisher Award for Excellence in Public Service for her office's work on environmental issues. Madigan also delivered the keynote speech, touching on the role government can take to protect the environment.
