Attorney General Lisa Madigan administers the oath of office to 29 recently hired assistant attorneys general (AAsG) at James R. Thompson Center in Chicago. There are currently 361 AAsG serving statewide.

Madigan delivered opening remarks and Kozakiewicz recounted her 2002 ordeal where a man she had befriended online kidnapped, tortured and raped her for several days before she was rescued by police. The event was hosted by the Butler School District 53, Butler 53 Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), and the Oak Brook Police Department.

Madigan's office brought together representatives from Illinois colleges and universities, as well as law enforcement to receive training from members of the U.S. Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center (NTAC) on the service's "Safe School Initiatives."

Attorney General Lisa Madigan today announced that her office will offer a cyberbullying training program for middle, junior high and high school personnel. Later, Madigan presented awards for outstanding law enforcement work against online predators. Honored were, Michael Mitchell, special agent with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE); Jon Ford, FBI special agent with the Cyber Crime Task Force, pictured with his wife Tara; and Ken Wojtowicz, detective with the Granite City Police Department.
