Attorney General Lisa Madigan answers questions about the Illinois Homeownership Preservation Summit convened by her office to address the burgeoning home foreclosure crisis in Illinois. Madigan was joined by, from left, Allen Fishbein, housing policy director for the Consumer Federation of America, and Illinois homeowners Lillian Gonzalez and Edward Booker. The Homeownership Preservation Summit is the second component of a two-part initiative that Madigan launched to address the foreclosure crisis. Representatives from 35 states attended the one-day meeting, which was designed to bring together government and businesses to work to reduce predatory mortgage lending nationwide.

Sachnoff received the Edwin A. Rothschild Award for Lifetime Achievement in Civil Rights. The Chicago Lawyers' Committee is the public interest law consortium of Chicago's leading law firms who donate more than 15,000 hours of professional legal services to civil rights issues.
