5/24/07 Lincoln-Douglas American Inn of Court
Attorney General Madigan became an honorary member of the Lincoln-Douglas American Inn of Court in Springfield. The Hon. Ronald Spears, of the 4th Judicial Circuit Court and outgoing president of the Inn, introduced and presented her with the membership.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan became an honorary member of the Lincoln-Douglas American Inn of Court in Springfield. The Hon. Ronald Spears, of the 4th Judicial Circuit Court and outgoing president of the Inn, introduced and presented her with the membership. The Lincoln-Douglas American Inn of Court is one of ten Inns of Court chapters in Illinois and their mission is to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility, and legal skills.

Joining McConnell were, from left, Diane Saltoun, inspector general for the attorney general’s office, Joseph Bisceglia, president-elect of the ISBA, John Manella, Comptroller of the Special Agents Association, and Sharon Eiseman, chief of Madigan’s land acquisition bureau and who nominated McConnell for the honor. The Law Enforcement Award was created by the ISBA to recognize sworn law enforcement officers for conduct that promotes justice and to distinguish those individuals whose service to the public brings honor and respect to the entire criminal justice system.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan joined dozens of professional women to walk with and guide aspiring young women in Oxygen Media Inc.’s Mentors Walk: Bringing Along the Next Generation in Chicago’s Millennium Park.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan joined dozens of professional women to walk with and guide aspiring young women in Oxygen Media Inc.’s Mentors Walk: Bringing Along the Next Generation in Chicago’s Millennium Park.  Madigan was a “mentor” for and walked with, from left, Lisa Jones, Danielle McLean, Holly Jarecki, Sehee Kim and Magdalena Mroczek.  Later, Madigan joined, from left, Maggie Daley, Deborah DeHaas, Regional Managing Partner of event sponsor Deloitte & Touche, and Geraldine Laybourne, founder, chairman and CEO of Oxygen Media Inc. The first Mentors Walk was held in New York City in 2005.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan announces a new partnership with the Illinois State Alliance of YMCAs to expand the reach of Internet safety education to include Y-Kids around the state.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan announces a new partnership with the Illinois State Alliance of YMCAs to expand the reach of Internet safety education to include Y-Kids around the state.  During a news conference at the Lake View YMCA on Chicago’s North Side, Madigan joined by, Laura Sova, executive director of the Lake View YMCA (not pictured), Cherita Ellens, senior marketing director YMCA Metropolitan Chicago and Rick Reigner, chief executive officer of Elgin YMCA.  The newly-created E.Y.E.S. Partnership - Educate Youth, Encourage Safety is a series of Internet safety “train the trainer” sessions for YMCA employees working with children. For more information, click here.

Cook Community Law Center.”

Attorney General Lisa Madigan stands with, from left, Russell Scott, president of board of Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation (LLLAF), Lois Wood, LLLAF executive director, and Bruce Cook, a Belleville attorney, during the Foundation’s dedication of their new location as the “Dorothy O. Cook Community Law Center.” Mr. Cook donated more than $600,000 toward the purchase and renovation of the building, which was named for his late mother. Madigan was the guest speaker during the dedication and open house.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan delivers the commencement address to the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Medicine’s 2007 graduating class.  Following her remarks, Madigan congratulates new doctor Javaneh Abbasian and fellow graduates as they come forward to receive their degrees and “hoods,” accouterments worn over their gowns that signify achievement in higher education.  UIC is the country’s largest medical school and 185 students participated in the commencement ceremony.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan stands with Dr. Mildred C. Harris, president and CEO of God First Ministries, during the annual Heavenly Breakfast in Chicago. Madigan served as an honorary chairperson for the event. God First Ministries was founded in Chicago by Dr. Harris and a small group of women working to help the less fortunate. There are affiliate chapters in California, Georgia, Indiana and Ohio.
