Their mission is to promote and foster the highest ethical relationship between businesses and the public through voluntary self-regulation, consumer and business education and service excellence.

Project Safe Childhood Roundtable Discussion |

Attorney General Lisa Madigan stands with Michael Sullivan, left,

lead the Illinois Internet
Crimes Against Children Task Force (I-CAC),
and Ernie Allen, President and CEO of the National
Center for Missing & Exploited
Children (NCMEC) following a roundtable discussion about "Project
Safe Childhood," a nationwide initiative designed to protect
children from sexual exploitation and abuse. The program brings
together federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend
and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet,
as well as identify and rescue victims. The event was hosted in
Chicago by U.S. Attorney Patrick J. Fitzgerald and U.S. Attorney
General Alberto Gonzales.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan Saturday answers a question from a student during the seventh Youth Government Day in Springfield. Youth Government Day is a free program of the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC). Madigan spoke to nearly 400 high school and junior college students from throughout Illinois interested in exploring careers in government and public service.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan demonstrates how R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. uses DJs and hip hop culture to attract youth to their tobacco products. ACS presented her with their “Partners in Progress Award” for her office’s efforts to end the sale of R.J. Reynolds’ candy, fruit and alcohol flavored cigarettes that were targeted at youth. Madigan spoke to attendees during the ACS Illinois Division Lobby Day and Board Meeting who gathered in support of the Smoke-Free Illinois initiative in Springfield. |

the Children's Research Triangle (CRT), during their 2007 Heroes
of Our Hearts gala in Rosemont. Madigan’s office was honored
for outstanding commitment to protecting and improving the lives
of children affected by exposure to drugs, violence and abuse. |

Illinois Education Association Annual Convention |
Attorney General Lisa Madigan Friday speaks to delegates at the Illinois Education
Association’s (IEA) Annual Convention in Rosemont. At left is Ken Swanson, President of
IEA. This was the association’s 153rd Representative Assembly,
which became an affiliate of the National Education Association
in 1857. The group has 120,000 members made up of Illinois elementary
and secondary teachers, higher education faculty and staff, educational
support professionals, retired educators and college students preparing
to become teachers. |

of the school, spoke to students about her role as Attorney General.
The event was sponsored by the school’s Latin Alliance of
Women (LAW) and Latin Initiative for Ethics (LIFE). |

Appleseed Fund for Justice, during the
group’s fundraising dinner in Chicago. This year’s
theme was a “Decade of Growth,” celebrating the anniversary
their ten-year affiliation with the national Appleseed, making
it part of a nationwide network of law and justice centers. |

Meeting |
Attorney General Lisa Madigan stands with John Walsh,
founder of the National Center
for Missing & Exploited Children
(NCMEC), during the NAAG 2007 spring meeting in Washington, D.C.
Madigan moderated a panel discussion titled, “Possibilities & Challenges
for State Management of Sex Offenders.” In addition to Madigan
and Walsh, panelists included representatives from the Department
of Justice and the U.S. Marshals Service. |
