The event was sponsored by Illinois State University, the Mennonite School of Nursing and Project X, a $2.5 million initiative targeting abuse of the illegal drugs Ecstasy and meth throughout Illinois. |

The Attorney General spoke to the committee regarding her proposal to pass legislation similar to a law that took effect in Iowa on May 21, 2005, that greatly restricted access to pseudoephedrine (PSE), the main ingredient used to make methamphetamine. Madigan’s proposal, Senate Bill 273, the Methamphetamine Precursor Control Act, received unanimous passage in the House of Representatives last week. |
