The Methamphetamine Control and Community Protection Act (MCCPA) took effect on September 11, 2005. The Act was designed to consolidate and strengthen state laws dealing with the production, distribution, and use of meth. Drafted by the Office of Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and widely supported by law enforcement statewide, MCCPA passed the Illinois Senate and House by unanimous votes and was signed into law by Governor Blagojevich. |
