Illinois Youth Court Association:
What is the IYCA?

Due to the growing interest and development of youth courts in the state of Illinois, the Office of the Attorney General established the Illinois Youth Court Association in February 2000.

The Illinois Youth Court Association (IYCA), a membership association, assists communities in developing youth courts, seeks to enhance existing youth court programs, and encourages information-sharing between these programs. The IYCA has an Advisory Board consisting of 17 youth court and juvenile justice professionals around the state who guide the association.

This Web site highlights the events, initiatives, and publications of the IYCA. Publications include a state youth court directory and newsletter.

The association’s goals include, but are not limited to, the following:

PROMOTE interagency cooperation and information sharing among youth courts
PROVIDE assistance to the youth courts in the state
ENCOURAGE the development of youth courts in Illinois
