General Statistics
In 2001 there were 5,618 reported incidents of criminal sexual assault in Illinois. (Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority)

1 in 36 women in college are victims of rape or attempted rape during an academic year; however, extrapolated data suggests that over the course of a college career the percentage of attempted or completed rapes among women in higher education institutions is closer to 20% - 25%.
