Submission of Registration Fees to the Board
Pursuant to Public Act 96-1096, which amends the Sex Offender Registration Act (730 ILCS 150/1 et.seq.) by changing the initial and annual registration fee to $100. The $100 fee should be allocated as follows: $10 or 10% of what is collected to the Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB), Fund #527; $30 or 30% of what is collected to the registering agency; $30 or 30% of what is collected to Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registration Fund; and $30 or 30% of what is collected to the Attorney General Sex Offender Awareness, Training and Education Fund. Funds collected should be sent separately to each agency.
To submit funds to the SOMB you must complete the Registering Agency Remittance Form. Make check payable to Treasurer of the State of Illinois. Payments should be sent Office of the Illinois State Treasurer, Attn: Accounting Division, P.O. Box 10254, Springfield, Illinois, 62791-0254.
