Job OpportunitiesOFFICE OF ATTORNEY GENERAL POSITION: Staff Assistant BUREAU: Fiscal Affairs/Human Resources LOCATION: Springfield SALARY: Commensurate With Experience SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Staff Assistant for Fiscal Affairs/Human Resources shall aid the Chief Fiscal Officer and the Director of Human Resources with various administrative tasks which include: serving as Office travel coordinator, preparing data downloads, preparing timely correspondence relating to monthly and quarterly reimbursements, assisting in procurement and travel document completion, providing support for quarterly Travel Control Board meetings, assisting in the preparation of annual Illinois State Legislature budget document submission, verifying certain travel-related vouchers before payment, posting job openings and sending acknowledgement letters, assisting with various time keeping duties, scheduling interviews and assisting in testing of candidates, and coordinating downstate law clerk program. Other duties include answering phones, filing and shredding. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, human resources, public administration, or business administration is preferred. 4 years of professional experience in a public or private organization is required for this position. A working knowledge of accounting techniques is helpful. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel is required. The position requires the ability to work in a confidential environment. Attendance and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public are essential functions of this position.
