STEP 1 SALARY: $33,348

SALARY: $33,348 - $45,108 annually

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Configuration, installation and maintenance of PC’s, Laptops and all Peripheral hardware, software, user documents, and troubleshooting user needs; software re-installation and upgrading; operating system re-installation and upgrading; perform network client software installation and upgrades; maintain PC, Peripheral, and software inventory; PC and peripheral hardware and software network troubleshooting; diagnose software, hardware and operator problems and recommend or perform minor remedial actions to correct problems or coordinate repairs with external contractual hardware maintenance company; perform part replacement and upgrades, perform peripheral replacement, swapping, moving and upgrading; order wiring as required for new PC and Peripheral installations, troubleshoot line problems and keep records of line locations; help desk and telephone support to end users. Provide support to regional locations as required. Other tasks reasonably related to the feature of this class.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of an Associates degree in computer science or related field and one (1) year of experience in technical field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
2. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, good customer service skills and phone etiquette.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to provide customer support for hardware and software problems; document customer requests and activities; guide users of various proficiency through difficulties; and lift 50 pounds or more. Must possess strong knowledge of PC’s, Laptops and Peripherals in general, strong knowledge of Windows, WordPerfect, and MS Office set up and configuration; knowledge of Microsoft Windows client protocols; printer configuration and troubleshooting, modem troubleshooting, and knowledge of current software and hardware product developments.

HOURS OF WORK: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday)
