Job OpportunitiesOFFICE OF ATTORNEY GENERAL POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Housing Policy Advisor BUREAU SERVED: Consumer Fraud Bureau LOCATION: 100 W. Randolph Street, Chicago Illinois MINIMUM STARTING SALARY: Commensurate with experience Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Senior Housing Policy Advisor, the Housing Policy Advisor reviews mortgage-related consumer complaint files with assigned Citizen Advocates to assess the feasibility of OAG home ownership intervention services. The Housing Policy Advisor may also transition cases from Citizens Advocates for direct negotiations with mortgage loan servicing companies. Workout strategies include but are not limited to: repayment agreements, forbearance agreements, loan modifications, partial claims, deeds in lieu of foreclosure, short sales and short payoffs. The Housing Policy Advisor will identify and research issues affecting home ownership and residential lending practices and engage in outreach and education to local housing counseling agencies, community groups, and government agencies regarding foreclosure intervention services and counseling.
