The Public Utilities Bureau represents the People of the State of Illinois with respect to all laws governing public utilities, including energy, water, and telecommunications services. Bureau attorneys are actively engaged on a daily basis in the development of the Attorney General's public policy on utility and communications issues, primarily through their participation in administrative proceedings before the Illinois Commerce Commission and legislative initiatives. Individuals with background in accounting, economics or engineering are encouraged to apply.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, the salary range is $50,500 to $67,500. Candidates must either have 2-4 years of general litigation experience or at least 1 year of experience in the public utilities' field. Newly licensed attorneys will not be considered.
