Job OpportunitiesAssistant Attorney General - PolicyTitle: Assistant Attorney General / Policy Advisor Division: Policy Location: Springfield or Chicago Description: The Policy Division is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Attorney General. In addition to engaging in civil and criminal litigation, the Attorney General’s Office pursues several policy matters. The Policy Division works on policy initiatives develops and drafts legislation, creates and staffs taskforces, conducts outreach, handles constituent work and creates training programs. Policy Advisors currently staff diverse projects such as overseeing child product safety work, responding to calls to the office’s hotlines, coordinating the Illinois Youth Court Association, and developing numerous internet safety initiatives. Qualifications: Candidates must have excellent research and writing skills. Candidates should have good oral presentation skills. Candidates must be licensed in Illinois at the time of application to be eligible. Candidates must have a demonstrated interest in public policy work and two or more years of experience in a public policy field.
