Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Statewide Automated Victim Notification Coordinator serves as the manger and oversees the implementation, installation and operation of a state wide automated victim notification system in Illinois. Working as a liaison between vendors and entities using the system to provide notifications and working with victims and advocates who request the notifications the Coordinators shall: Provide information to key system users in Illinois; Provide use of the statewide automated victim notification system by coordinating and conducting system training to criminal justice system users and victim service providers throughout Illinois; Perform additional training as needed promoting system benefits; Assist the Crime Victims and Witness Notification Advisory Committee by scheduling meeting, preparing agendas, minutes and other documents for the meetings; Provide progress reports on plan/system operations to the Crime Victim and Witness Notification Advisory Committee; Draft the annual report to the General Assembly; Develop policies and procedures for operations of the system; Provide vigilant follow-up on technical assistance issues and system interruptions; Maintain the inventory of print and electronic materials for public distribution; Research funding opportunities to enhance the system; Promote and develop the system in new areas as it matures.

Qualifications:

This position requires a bachelorís degree in a criminal justice background in addition to proven work experience in the criminal justice system. Additional requirements are:

Computers literacy with strong working knowledge of basic MIS systems; outstanding communications skills and comfort level with public presentations; ability to prioritize tasks of a critical nature; statewide travel. A valid Illinois driverís license is required. Attendance and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public are essential functions of the position.

Hours of Work: 8:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. (Monday - Friday)
